"Don't worry, this adjacent joke is just like it... only dumb." -Jeselnik,
I give 3 stars for his one-act. Separately, I give simply one/2 star for the people that unsuccessfully attempt to imitate his style of comedy.
Anthony Jeselnik has an impressive bent for creating misdirects. It's easy to write off his comedy as beingness purely offensive merely he actually does have a talent for leading you in one direction and then taking you into another. Unfortunately, that is 90% of his talent so for an hour long special with the same format over and over past the second half the jokes go pretty easy to predict. Comparatively someone like Mitch Hedberg told a few jokes a minute but he…

A pace up from his previous special, Anthony Jeselnik has refined his patented brand of dry, deadpan commitment and complete misdirection even moreso than before.
His punchlines never cease to hitting you in the face completely out of the furthest altitude of the left field, no matter how much of his comedy y'all lookout. No matter how far out of the box you go to effort and predict them, he'south ever lightyears ahead of you.
This i also benefits from his restraint in telling you how dark his one-act is, and his reigning in of repeating the set up lines, both of which were my main bug with Thoughts and Prayers.
Anthony Jeselnik has mastered his great phase persona of an arrogant, sociopathic erect end, he has a perfectly dry delivery, and he is a king at timing. I thoroughly recommend this special.
Jeselnik deserves more recognition.

Anthony Jeselnik'south Fire in the Motherhood Ward is the about literal sense of "stand-up comedy" the form could take. The special begins with no intro music, no applause, and an unceremonious opening shot, correct at Jeselnik already beginning his first joke. The whole hour would have the camera focused on Jeselnik with almost non a single second showing the audience. The special shows one thing a comedian does: to standup on a stage and tell jokes. Even the jokes themselves have such a strictly structured layout. Through all of Jeselnik's dead-pan and darkly-witted persona, the jokes are told with the same textbook construction of the 1's y'all'd find in an innocent book of dad jokes… -
I can count the number of things I know about Anthony Jeselnik on one mitt. I know he dated Amy Schumer, I know Amy Schumer dumped him, and I know that she'due south much funnier than him. Proverb that, this stand up-up special isn't bad at all, and in Jeselnik nosotros take a comedian who does have a uniquely entertaining way of delivering a punchline. I like his style, he'due south non always the funniest or most original of comedians, but this reminded me that he's more than than just a guy who turns up at the odd Comedy Key Roast.

I'll never forget the one time I saw my dad's penis. I said, "Dad, don't text me shit like that."
-Anthony JeselnikOffensive to some, vivid to others.

why does he walk and then slow wtf

Fire in the Maternity Ward starts off so strong. I was laughing hard even when I noticed five minutes had gone by and he had only gotten through 5 jokes. The slow pace wears thin though. I remember he would kill during a shorter ready, only a full hour is too much. He closes with a xv-20 minute story that I constitute pretty dull.
